My experience with gratitude is profoundly rewarding. It’s like opening a door or window, and I’m in a different place. It’s like being more aware that someone is listening, suggesting maybe. To me, it’s a confirmation that being is not about me and my problems but about something profound and not fully understood by me. I aways end my thanks with the Fellowship, staff members, and students of the Philosophy.
I’m wondering if the awareness of the importance of gratitude has been growing. Besides it being discussed in Lemurian student literature, I’ve come across gratitude on bumper stickers, in book titles, and motivational YouTube videos. I even found an online article titled “The Science Behind Gratitude” and how gratitude can change your life!
Here’s an example of that life-changing effect: A visitor to Gateway wrote:
“I can’t believe how much energy I had on the day I arrived at the Fellowship and Gateway and how much I had during the time I was there.”
We’re pretty sure it had much to do with the gratitude he expressed:
“The organization and efficiency of those I worked with was quite evident throughout the time I was there. New planting always seem to be going on at Gateway and it makes the grounds really look beautiful. (I even got to see first hand how gophers appreciate all the planting we do for them.) The women always do a great job with the meals and each one was a special treat. Everyone is so friendly and everything always seems to be in its place so it is really hard to imagine any conflicts.”

The breath of grace appears through gratitude. May we give thanks for the guides of wisdom and bestow peace in our hearts
