The simplicity of this statement is beautiful. I, too, can be more like Christ if I start with softening my heart and monitoring my words under all circumstances. This is a meaningful place to start in molding myself into the person I strive to be!
I have previously expressed love for others that was really not from the heart, but done out of a desire to do good, and wanting to impress them. I’ve learned that in order to be sincere in this expression requires a release of all ill feelings with a compassionate understanding, and also the use of sincerity, patience, tolerance, forbearance, and other virtues. True kindliness requires diligent work, but is doable and much more rewarding than a feigned expression.
