With a growing awareness of the good in others and that they – just as you – try to do what is right, one becomes less inclined to utter any word or think any thought that might eventually result in hurting another

I echo your fine sentiments, Tom! And I, too, wonder how my life would have gone without the wisdom of these teachings. I still have much learning and growing to do, but one thing I have personally experienced is that when I direct more energy towards improving myself and less on criticizing others, my life and conditions improve.
Thank you for posting this . A timeless guiding principle ,that ultimately brings us back to ‘why ‘we criticize so
frequently. The philosophy helps me to understand and do the work of self – inspection ( as lovingly as possible ) ,
so I can participate in relationships , associations and conversations with greater understanding , courage and serenity.
Hard won qualities . It makes me wonder how my life would have gone without the wisdom of these teachings .
I don’t have the answer to that, but real gratitude for being a part of this is enough
